How the Hooksetter Works

In automatic hook-setting mode, the system holds your fishing rod in a loaded position. When a fish triggers the release mechanism, the rod tip springs upward, helping set the hook.

The manufacturer recommends leaving approximately 6–8 inches of slack in the line to produce a strong hookset.

For anglers who prefer a traditional tip-up presentation, the Hooksetter can also be operated in open-bail mode.
