Nils augers have a following on Upper Midwest ice for a reason: the one-piece chromium steel head shaves through hard water with noticeably less effort than a bolted cutting head, and this one folds down so it rides in a sled or a trunk instead of taking up a whole corner of the shack. Pull the handle off and it runs on a cordless drill for hole-hopping.
